Your Prostate and Sexual Health

September is National Prostate Month!  Why is this little organ so important and why should it be on your radar?  Because over 30 million men suffer from prostate conditions that affect their quality of life.

For those of you who don't know, the prostate is actually a sexual organ.  It's a small gland, about the size of a walnut, that surrounds the urethra.  The urethra carries urine and semen through the penis.  In some men, the prostate begins to grow around age 40.  An enlarged prostate can lead to frequent urination or erectile dysfunction.  Prostate cancer is also the most common cancer found in men and is the second leading cause of death among men (lung cancer is first).

Because the prostate is a sexual organ, the stimulation of it during sexual intercourse is very pleasurable for most men.  Fortunately, unlike the elusive g-spot, it's also easier to find.  While you can use an ordinary g-spot vibrator to stimulate the prostate, we recommend a vibrator specifically meant for the prostate like Dr. Joel Kaplan's Prostate Massager.

There's also a fabulous new line of male prostate devices from Aneros.  Aneros' prostate massagers are designed to trigger multiple orgasms by stimulating and strengthening the prostate.  The tip of the massager rests comfortably against the prostate while the massager pivots back and forth using only the anal muscles.  This enables a man's erection to be harder and last longer.

As with any massager, we always recommend using a lubricant.  Aneros again comes to the rescue with a line of Marksman Disposable Lubricant Applicators which are pre-filled lubricant shooters designed to deliver the perfect amount of lubricant right on target, every time.

The important thing to remember is that all men have a prostate.  Like any part of your body, it is important to care for it.  The stimulation of the prostate produces a normal, healthy, sexual response.
